The Client: Nonna Vittoria
Nonna Vittoria is a guesthouse located in the heart of Mola di Bari, a strategic point for exploring Puglia’s tourist destinations. The structure offers modern comforts in an evocative, family atmosphere. The need was to create a visual identity communicating the warm hospitality of Southern Italy and its proximity to the sea.
Concept: Southern Scenarios
The graphic concept stems from the desire to encapsulate the Apulian holiday experience in a single symbol. I wanted to represent the territory’s natural protagonists: the warm sun and the crystal-clear sea. Not a classic illustration, but a geometric synthesis merging landscape and typography.
Logo Design: The NV Monogram
The logo is a circular monogram. The structure is formed by the initials “N” and “V” which, intersecting, divide the circle into two hemispheres. The upper part, in golden yellow, represents sun rays; the lower part, in light and deep blue, simulates sea waves. The letters thus become the horizon separating sky and water.
Versatility: The Luminaria
The logo’s geometric strength was tested with a unique application: the creation of an artisanal “luminaria” (traditional light installation). The vector design was perfectly translated into a light structure typical of Apulian tradition, proving how good design can move from paper to urban decor without losing recognizability.
Classic Typography
For the “NONNA VITTORIA” lettering, I chose a serif font with a classic and elegant flavor. This typeface evokes tradition, history, and the reliability of a name recalling family (“Nonna” means Grandma). The wording “APARTMENTS” is in a clean sans-serif to add a touch of international modernity.
Apulian Color Palette
The chosen colors are a tribute to the land of Puglia. Solar yellow and marine blue create a vibrant contrast that catches the eye and conveys immediate joy. On textured paper or a white background, this chromatic combination communicates summer freshness and the warmth of hospitality.
Coordinated Visual Identity
The logo was applied to all the structure’s materials: from bed linens to welcome kits and internal signage. Visual coherence transforms the stay into a brand experience, where every detail reminds the guest they are in a curated place with a strong identity.
Territorial Marketing
The brand promotes not just the structure, but the territory. By using universal symbols like sun and sea within the monogram, Nonna Vittoria immediately positions itself as the ideal choice for those seeking the “true” Apulian seaside experience, even before seeing room photos.
Positioning Strategy
The project elevated Nonna Vittoria’s perception from a simple guesthouse to a curated hospitality brand. The visual identity reassures tourists about service quality, suggesting that the attention dedicated to the logo is reflected in the care of the environments and guest assistance.
Results & Achievements
The launch of the new identity was a great success. The logo became a distinctive mark in Mola di Bari, especially thanks to the luminaria installation which amplified its visibility. The brand effectively communicates to both local and international tourists, conveying the promise of a sun-filled, relaxing holiday at a glance.
